Dental Crown FAQs
How long does it take to get a dental crown?
Generally, two appointments are needed for the dental crown procedure. At the first visit, our dental care team will prepare the tooth for the crown, removing decay and defective restorations. An impression is then made and sent to the lab for the fabrication of the crown. The patient will leave the office with a temporary crown securely in place. You will return approximately two weeks later for the final dental crown to be fitted and permanently secured in place.
How much does a dental crown cost?
The cost of a dental crown varies based on a number of factors such as the location, materials, and number of crowns needed. If you have dental insurance, your crown may be covered. We will submit your claim electronically at the time of your visit and can work with you to determine your coverage prior to treatment.
How long do dental crowns last?
Dr. McClauchlin will design your dental crown to last a lifetime. Proper care and maintenance will ensure that your dental crown will perform at its best for many years.
Can you replace old crowns or metal fillings?
Yes, MAC Dental in Nixa can replace old crowns that are discolored, worn, or broken, as well as old metal fillings. We can place a new, porcelain dental crown on the tooth for a more esthetic restoration.
